007 First Light Adds Four Aston Martin Valhalla Driving Missions

007 First Light has added four new driving missions built around the Aston Martin Valhalla. The free Extended Operations DLC puts Bond behind the wheel in the Slovakian Mountains, combining high-speed driving with machine guns, missile launchers, destructible targets and score-based challenges.

The new content arrived on October 1 as part of Update 1.3.0 and finally unlocks the previously teased Valhalla Protocol activity inside TacSim. All four missions can be played during different day and night conditions, with their own combinations of challenges and targets.

Four Aston Martin Valhalla Missions in Slovakia

Valhalla Protocol moves away from the conventional espionage scenarios found elsewhere in 007 First Light and focuses almost entirely on Bond’s most heavily armed car.

Players drive the Aston Martin Valhalla through the mountainous roads of Slovakia while attempting to destroy targets, collect time bonuses and achieve the highest possible score. IO Interactive describes the activity as a test of both driving ability and weapon use rather than a simple point-to-point race.

The Valhalla carries the weapons already used during the game’s campaign, including machine guns and missile launchers. These can be fired while driving to remove targets positioned around the route, adding a combat element to the timed runs.

Day and night versions also alter visibility across the four missions. Each uses different challenges, encouraging players to learn the routes and improve their results rather than completing the activity once and moving on.

The Valhalla already played an important role in the main 007 First Light campaign. Aston Martin’s mid-engine plug-in hybrid supercar was modified by Q Branch specifically for Bond, with IO Interactive previously highlighting the car as one of the game’s major automotive partnerships.

Part of the Free Extended Operations DLC

Valhalla Protocol is included at no additional cost for existing 007 First Light players through the Extended Operations update.

The DLC also adds another TacSim operation called Jungle Heist, which sends Bond back to The Pearl in Vietnam to infiltrate a guarded villa and retrieve classified documents. The property has been expanded for the mission, including rooftop access and redesigned interior areas intended to offer additional stealth routes.

Elsewhere, Update 1.3.0 introduces New Game+, Photo Mode and a new 00 difficulty level. New Game+ allows completed checkpoints to be replayed using previously unlocked outfits and gadgets, while 00 difficulty makes enemies more reactive and combat considerably less forgiving.

TacSim has also been expanded to include more of the weapons available during the main campaign, while IO Interactive says the complete update contains more than 700 fixes and improvements covering stability, progression, audio, user interface and other areas.

For players primarily interested in the game’s driving, however, Valhalla Protocol is the standout addition. Instead of limiting the Aston Martin to scripted campaign sequences, the four new missions provide dedicated routes where the car’s performance and Q Branch weaponry can be used repeatedly in pursuit of higher scores.

The 007 First Light Extended Operations DLC is available now as a free update.
