AC Competizione: Showing off goes wrong

We are not really sure what happened to show this, but it could be the most shameful video to show a product in sim market during this strange year. We are supposed use to this, with products like Project Cars 3 totally going out of the expected path and showing us a new NFS Shift like a new iterative title but not knowing your own audience is something somehow an unexpected behavior from a company like Kunos.

Yesterday Assetto Corsa Competizione showed off in consoles, but only bad news were announced, with a capped game at 30 FPS to assure physics, sounds and other mandatory (and apparently higher priority resources). Depending on what platform we play, we could receive even less than that, affecting our draw distance and other visual effects in PS4, resolution (900p) in Xbox One or grill size on both consoles with only 20 cars.

So in the end, when a gameplay video was released we found a third person camera driving an outdated track, with gamepad and using race line. Driving in a clumsy manner with very so-so visuals. Probably one of the worst choices to show a hardcore simulator jumping to the domestic and more affordable market.

Of course this kind of revelations are not strange to Kunos who also revealed lack of official servers and much more deficiencies near to the release of the ACC 1.0 in computers, and get very regular critics in their previous console title.

Assetto Corsa Competizione for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be release 23rd June and you can preorder it in the links at the beginning of this post.

Update: A new video has been released with a 1080p PS4 Pro capture.
