The actual Le Mans race had to be postponed to September due to everything that has happened in recent months. However, the drivers have been substituting track hours for simulator hours and ACO (the organizer) and WEC has seen the opportunity this means to recreate the show from home.
Now, we have the confirmation of all the participants of the virtual test of Le Mans that will take place from June 13 to 14 in rFactor 2. It will have the usual LMP1, LMP2 and GTE classes as iRacing but with some different models. All the teams have at least 50% real drivers in their ranks and the names involved are enough to take the test into account:
- Charles Leclerc
- Max Verstappen
- Lando Norris
- Pierre Gasly
- Antonio Giovanazzi
- Fernando Alonso
- Jenson Button
- Juan Pablo Montoya
- Simon Pagenaud
- Jack Aitken
- Louis Deletraz
- Jamie Chadwick
- Sébastien Buemi
- Brendon Hartley
- José María López
- André Lotterer
- Neel Jani
- Nick Tandy
- Miguel Molina
- Darren Turner
- Jan Magnussen
- Rubens Barrichello
- Giancarlo Fisichella
- Fittipaldi
- Felipe Massa
- Olivier Panis
- FelixRosenqvist
- Stoffel Vandoorne
- Jean Eric Vergne
- Greger Huttu
- Rudy Van Buren
- David Tonizza
- Joshua Rogers
- Jimmy Broadbent
It is probably the most impressive event ever seen on any simulator. Congratulations to Studio 397 for having this opportunity. We hope that everything goes as expected and that there are no technical failures that cloud the test dispute.
See you on the track!
