This news has been developing for a few months, and today we have its final chapter. A new beginning for Asetek, now under the orders of the Chinese company CQXA.
The move had been brewing since last year, when the Chinese showed interest in acquiring Asetek’s technology and patents related to liquid cooling. With this full purchase, Asetek leaves the stock market and becomes a private company in foreign hands. The simracing division is included in the package, and continuity of Asetek as we know it is assured.
Here is the official note issued by Asetek and the video from Andre Sloth Eriksen (ASE-Tek), CEO and founder, explaining the entire buyout.
Asetek has been acquired by CQXA Holdings, a subsidiary of Chinese electronics manufacturer Suzhou Chunqiu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. The acquisition marks the end of Asetek’s time as a publicly listed company, but the business itself remains firmly rooted in Denmark. Asetek founder and CEO André Eriksen has released an official video statement addressing what the acquisition means for the company, its people, and its direction going forward.
Eriksen confirmed he will continue as CEO, and that the broader management team stays in place. The acquisition is rooted in Asetek’s world-leading position within liquid cooling for PCs and chips. CQXA sees it as a strategic path into the datacenter and AI cooling space, leveraging Asetek’s established technology and market position.
For the sim racing community, the message from Eriksen is continuity. Asetek Racing continues to develop and manufacture hardware in Denmark, with production split across Denmark, Malaysia, and China as before. Over time, the partnership with CQ is expected to strengthen supply chain efficiency, with potential to make Asetek Racing products more broadly available.
André Eriksen has shared the full announcement in a dedicated video. We invite you to watch, share, and cover the story. For interview requests or additional information, please reach out directly to the media contact below.
Personally, as a European, I feel uncertainty about the loss of ownership of the industrial fabric that this entails. I hope that in this case the promises and the direction of the Danish company are maintained.
