Assetto Corsa Competizione American Track Pack – In Depth Review

This American Track Pack for Assetto Corsa Competizione follows the path of the most recent updates since the inclusion of 1.8 on PC. It continues to solve perhaps the most pressing problem that the primitive Assetto Corsa + Dream Packs a had, which was a lack of circuits, and adds three quite iconic tracks from the North American scene this time.

The three tracks are well known to our readers, with special emphasis on Watkins Glen, which has a round of premieres in several simulators and presents an outstanding level in all of them.

Along with the aforementioned New York State track, Indianapolis and CotA are featured.

Indianapolis

For those of us who grew up on the “old” F1 track, the layout at Indianapolis is completely foreign. After the bizarre experience with Michelin tires in 2005, F1 stopped visiting the United States until CotA arrived. Several changes have been made to the Indianapolis infield since then, including the one chosen for this appearance in Assetto Corsa Competizione, which was used in the Intercontinental GT last year.

Circuit of the Americas

Our beloved Texan track, which serves as a Grand Prix in the United States and almost doubles as a double date for many Mexican fans. A track that shows the effects of time and resurfacing. Where the sun has already made a dent in some elements, but where we can still enjoy wild slopes, crazy curves, and a constant feeling of jumping into the void in each of the vertices.

It’s not everyone’s favorite, but it’s better than Paul Ricard.

Watkins Glen

Without a doubt, the star of this DLC. The one with the least international renown and the best show. Popular among drivers and enjoyed in every meter. A simple circuit, but technical enough for those who know how to shine while remaining accessible to beginners. Equality is guaranteed on a well-maintained track that is updated almost annually.

Conclusions

The tracks are designed using Kunos criteria to ensure that they do not interfere with the game’s high quality. They, like the rest of the circuits, have a lot of external elements and a lot of life. Details such as the different types of asphalt, the wear of certain elements, or the representation at FFB level of certain characteristic elements such as the rough pianos of Watkins Glen are also present and respected. In terms of performance and loading, it maintains the usual high standard, with its presentation almost instantaneous and the display on the monitor outstanding. There are no changes to what we already know in VR. Driving in Assetto Corsa Competizione is already a pleasure, so it all depends on the layout and what we prefer.

We can’t finish without taking a look at what was delivered in previous years or in the catalog that is still available in the United States. We had three circuits for 12,99 € last year, and now we have the same number for 17,99 €. Only Watkins Glen is a “necessary” addition for many race fans. The nonsense perpetrated in the layout of Indianapolis, and CotA being the most proper tilkodromo of the same name in the world, is very difficult to win over a few fans’ hearts. Important races like Sebring, VIR, Sonoma, and Road America, which are on the North American calendar, have been left out, which would have filled the collection much more appropriately.

It is available on Steam here.

Eneba (for Steam) has the base game and previous DLCs for a few euros:
