The Eifel open-world map is poised to set a new benchmark in sim racing. At over 600 square miles (1,600 km²), this map is one of the largest ever created for a racing simulator.

Players can explore off-road areas, drive through dense forests, or cruise along winding roads without restrictions. According to Marco Massarutto, Kunos Simulazioni’s managing director,

“You will not be respawned on the road if you go off the road. The entire area is drivable.”

For fans of diverse driving experiences, AC Evo’s off-road capabilities open up exciting possibilities. Drift enthusiasts will enjoy dedicated cars, tracks, and gameplay mechanics designed to elevate this aspect of the sim.

Importantly, the open world is entirely optional. Marco emphasized that purists who prefer traditional circuit racing can stick to tracks without missing out.

“If you want to, you can completely forget the open world.

This dual approach ensures AC Evo caters to both open-world fans and hardcore sim racers.

A New Level of Single-Player Depth

Single-player fans will appreciate the advancements in AI technology within AC Evo. The new system allows AI opponents to learn and adapt with every lap, creating a more dynamic and realistic racing experience.

Furthermore, each AI driver will have a unique personality—some will be aggressive, others cautious—adding depth to offline races.

Unlike previous iterations, AI drivers in AC Evo can make unscripted mistakes, ensuring no two races feel the same. This unpredictability adds a layer of challenge and excitement for players. For instance, if an AI driver spins out in one race, don’t expect them to repeat the same error in subsequent attempts.
