Fans of Assetto Corsa Evo are still awaiting the game’s next update. Although there was some expectation of news in recent days, Stefano Casillo, the lead developer, recently confirmed that the update is still in progress and won’t be released any time soon.
In his own words:
“We need you guys to be a bit patient with us. The update is still weeks away.”
This statement puts an end to speculation about an imminent release and sets a more realistic—though still vague—timeline for the project’s next steps. While no specific details have been shared, the message aims to provide clarity for players closely following the game’s development.
What Do We Know So Far?
Although there’s no official changelog yet, some aspects of the upcoming version have been mentioned:
- Performance Optimization: The developers have stated they are working on improving the game’s performance across different hardware configurations. Internal testing shows promising results, but it’s still unclear whether those improvements will translate well across all setups.
- Additional Content: The update is expected to include new cars, tracks, and single-player features. However, according to several community comments, these additions are seen as minor compared to more anticipated features like multiplayer.
- Multiplayer: While it won’t be part of the upcoming update, it’s been made clear that multiplayer is a key goal for the future. Still, it’s not coming in the next few weeks, and full implementation could still be months away.
A Critical Stage in Development
The project is currently in a sensitive phase—transitioning from a basic playable version to the delivery of core features promised during early access. In this kind of development, timelines often stretch beyond initial expectations, which naturally creates tension between the player base and the dev team.
Honest communication, though appreciated, also reflects a reality: updates will come slowly, with a strong emphasis on stability and quality over speed.
I’m waiting too. Steering wheel plugged in, mentally checking off each day, resisting the urge to open the game just to see if something has changed. But today, I chose something different: to stop checking compulsively and instead reflect on what this kind of waiting really means.
Of course, not everyone sees it the same way. Some feel frustrated, some want more frequent news, others worry that the project’s promises may fade over time. And in their own way, all of them are right. Because when you invest time, money, and—above all—hope, you at least expect a sign that things are moving forward.
If the result is a more polished, more stable experience—closer to what the devs envisioned and we dreamed of—then let it take as long as it needs. I’d rather have an update that impresses with its quality than one that disappoints due to being rushed.
So yes, it’s time to wait. But also time to trust. In the meantime, enjoy what’s already there, return to familiar tracks, experiment with new setups, and remember why we started following this project in the first place.

so what about that bogus roadmap they put forth?
It’s not bogus go on their discord in announcements, on the 5th of April They said that essentially the next update rather than doing small updates it’s taken more time because it’s going to be the next milestone update which should include all of the 2nd major milestone content in the roadmap plus the rest of the stuff in between
Thsi is still early access it is not full and finished geez .. and I bought the game from day to support the development team so plp enjoy it let it grow and it will that have big goals and aims for this game and this naturally takes time it looks beautiful and runs well enjoy while it develops with our help and 23 euros dam it’s a steal
I did buy this, then refunded, it’s not close to ready, it should have been crowdfunded not released as early access, it’s a joke, they are relying on hardcore fans(me) of the game to test it, it’s not even at the alpha stage yet
Tell me you know nothing about game design without telling me lmfao go play an actual alpha of a game and tell what’s included. Most alpha still use place holders for assets.
Now that Stefano is back and Aris is out is should be a good game
Bought the game from day one. Love it but stopped playing a few days later after the last update.
Don’t care for multilayer, but did expect more content given its history.
Amazing to me all the people who keep using the “early access” excuse. There are 100s of games, many made by much smaller teams and budgets, even made by one guy, that launched in EA in a FAR better state then this game is in even 3 months later, with more content and transparency then we have gotten from kunos.
You can not tell me that a larger team whose made several games at this point now, whose bankrolled by a larger publisher, cant get it together when one guy in his house fully self funded can release his first ever game in EA in a much better state. Thats bs.
I could go on and list dozens of EA games that had a far better launch and communication that i personally own myself on steam, and 100s more. EA is not an excuse. And EA is definitely not an excuse when it comes to the always online requirement that has proven over and over again to be problematic and anti consumer. Even to THIS day evo has proven this as the servers are STILL not stable and to keep any connection at all you have to go into your network settings and disable ipv6. 4 months later. This is 100% unacceptable and anyone who still tries defending this needs to get their heads out of their a$$ and smell the coffee.
Maybe join the discord then lmfao they’re pretty transparent
Im in their discord and have been since they launched it. And all it is is people giving accurate criticisms and others ganging up on them about it being “early access” and to “learn what that means and stop complaining” ironic i do think….
Also what developer has even come close to this quality? If you try to mention Tokyo Extreme Racer I will laugh you out of this post considering that one dev still can’t even get FFB working on wheels, just recently got the clutch to work in game and just keeps adding stuff without addressing the major issues without even acknowledging any issues. That’s not a good practice at least kunos tells us what’s going on and essentially has heard our complaints and issues so that’s why update is longer than expected
Ready or not, enshrouded, schedule 1, 7 days, insurgency sandstorm, grounded, sons of the forrest, phasmophobia, hell let lose, vein (which is still free btw), project zombiod, hell even acc was in better shape when it launched. The list goes on and on and im not going to sit here and name dozens or 100s of games that launched in early access that was in a far better state when it launched then evo is still in 3 months later. Especially to someone whose so deep in denial that they will brush it off anyway.
And how many times does it have to be said that early access has literally nothing to do with the decision to be always online and the MANY problems that comes with that. You dont even have to look at any other games except evo itself to see the issues that can come with that.
Early access is NOT an excuse for this launch, nor is it an excuse for it to be an always online, and therefore clearly a live service game. And people need to stop with that bs already. If something is going to be released, for money, it should at the bare minumum be a functioning product of whats there.
