Assetto Corsa Rally 0.3.1 Fixes Shifter Bug with Hotfix After Update 0.3

The Early Access rally simulator Assetto Corsa Rally has received a new minor update aimed at fixing one of the most widely reported technical issues following its latest major patch. Version 0.3.1 arrives as a hotfix primarily focused on resolving problems related to the use of physical shifters, while also including a small localization fix in the game.

The patch comes just a few days after the release of Update 0.3, whichintroduced notable new content such as a recreation of the Rally Monte Carlo, but also created compatibility issues with several manual shifter devices.

A Hotfix Focused on Fixing the Shifter Bug

According to developer Supernova Games Studios, update 0.3.1 directly addresses an issue that prevented many shifter models from correctly registering gear changes in the game.

After the release of version 0.3, numerous players reported that gear shifts were not being detected properly, forcing some to rely on temporary workarounds or external tools to remap their controls. The studio initially shared a provisional workaround, but the new hotfix removes the need for these alternative solutions.

With this fix, the developers aim to restore normal functionality for shifter devices across most hardware configurations used by the sim racing community.

Official Recommendation Regarding Remapping Software

Alongside the hotfix, the developers also issued an important technical recommendation for players who use control remapping tools.

Programs such as SimHub or similar utilities can create additional layers of input mapping, which in some cases may cause conflicts within the game.

For that reason, the team recommends that players:

• First test their devices using the default configuration inside the game.
• Verify that controls work correctly when assigned through the in-game settings menu.
• Only rely on external tools if the device truly requires it.

According to the studio, adding remapping layers can result in duplicate inputs, signal conflicts, or unintended behavior.

Additional Fixes to Game Localization

Although the main focus of the patch is the shifting system, the hotfix also includes a minor localization correction.

Specifically, the Spanish description text for two of the new cars introduced in the previous update has been adjusted:

• Škoda Fabia RS Rally2
• Lancia Fulvia Coupé HF

These models are part of the recently added content, and the correction ensures that their descriptions appear properly translated in the game’s interface.
