Supernova Games has confirmed that Greece will be the next destination to join the game with update 0.5, taking players to the demanding roads of the legendary Acropolis Rally.

In recent days, the community already suspected that something important was on the way. A brief teaser showed scan data from an unknown stage and speculation quickly got underway. Finland and Greece were the most likely options, but in the end the clues pointed squarely at the iconic Loutraki stages of the Acropolis Rally.

The Acropolis Rally is one of the toughest and most recognisable events in the World Rally Championship. Its gravel roads, packed with rocks and potholes, have tested generations of drivers and mechanics.

The arrival of Greece in Assetto Corsa Rally means the game will have a second gravel-based location, broadening the offering for those seeking more demanding experiences off the tarmac. Personally, this choice feels like a perfect fit with the philosophy of the project. Rather than focusing solely on spectacular scenery, the team appears intent on recreating some of the most iconic challenges in rallying.

The footage shown so far features vehicles already in the game taking on the Greek roads. However, it is still unclear whether new cars will be included in update 0.5. Previous updates not only added new locations but also brand-new cars. Many players are hoping that version 0.5 will keep up that tradition and arrive with fresh content.

One of the most talked-about subjects is the possible arrival of virtual reality, a feature widely requested by the community. That said, there is general agreement that the game’s performance will need to improve before this feature can offer a solid experience for everyone.

Another point of debate is the physics of slippery surfaces. Some virtual drivers believe the difference in handling between tarmac, snow, and gravel still needs fine-tuning, while others note that the game is in early access and there is still room to evolve.

For those who enjoy tackling narrow roads and unpredictable conditions, this new location promises to become a firm favourite from day one. Now all that remains is to wait for update 0.5 to find out whether, alongside the tough Greek stages, Supernova Games has any additional surprises in store.
