Assetto Corsa Rally has taken its first official step toward broader mod support with Update 0.6. The new build introduces support for custom and multiple liveries, with Supernova Games Studios explicitly describing the feature as the beginning of a modding system it plans to expand in future updates.
Released on September 10, 2026, Assetto Corsa Rally Update 0.6 adds three new rally cars, Photo Mode, private multiplayer lobbies and 18 additional Rally Events.
However, one of the most important additions for the game’s long-term future may be much smaller initially: players can now create, import, save and select their own liveries.
Supernova has gone a step further by confirming that this is intended as the first stage of broader modding support rather than simply an isolated paint customization feature.
Custom liveries arrive with Assetto Corsa Rally 0.6
Update 0.6 introduces official support for both custom and multiple liveries.
Players can create their own designs externally using standard image or paint-editing software before importing them into Assetto Corsa Rally. The customization system allows several visual properties to be modified, including stickers, colors, paint roughness, metallic values and clear-coat gloss.
Multiple custom designs can then be saved and selected directly through the game’s interface, making community-created liveries much easier to manage than a simple texture replacement system.
Supernova has also included official documentation directly within the Assetto Corsa Rally installation directory.
The guide can be found at:

This documentation explains the workflow required to prepare and import liveries for the supported cars.
More information about Update 0.6 is available through the official Assetto Corsa Rally announcement.
Supernova confirms this is the beginning of mod support
The significance of the new livery system is not simply that custom paint schemes are now possible.
Supernova Games Studios has specifically said that the feature represents a first step toward modding support and that it plans to expand those capabilities in the future.

That is an important distinction because until now Assetto Corsa Rally had not offered a defined community-content creation system comparable to what many players associate with the wider Assetto Corsa ecosystem.
Update 0.6 therefore establishes the first officially supported route for players to introduce their own content into Assetto Corsa Rally.
For the moment, that content is limited to vehicle appearance rather than the underlying cars, stages or simulation systems.
What Assetto Corsa Rally modding supports right now
The current implementation should not be confused with full Assetto Corsa-style mod support.
As of Update 0.6, the officially supported community-content feature is focused on custom vehicle liveries.
Players can modify visual elements of existing cars and maintain several custom liveries simultaneously, but Supernova has not announced official tools for creating entirely new vehicles or rally stages.
There is also currently no confirmed official support for modifying physics, sounds, weather systems, co-driver behaviour or other core simulation components.
| Modding Feature | Current Status |
|---|---|
| Custom liveries | Supported |
| Multiple custom liveries | Supported |
| Official livery documentation | Available |
| Custom cars | Not confirmed |
| Custom rally stages | Not confirmed |
| Physics modifications | Not confirmed |
| Sound modifications | Not confirmed |
| Plugins or scripting | Not confirmed |
Supernova has also not provided a timetable explaining when the next stage of modding support will arrive.
For that reason, it would be premature to assume Assetto Corsa Rally will eventually allow every type of modification supported by previous community-driven racing simulators.
What comes next for Assetto Corsa Rally mod support?
That remains the biggest unanswered question.
Supernova has now made its direction clear enough to confirm that custom liveries are not intended to be the end of community-created content, but there are currently no official details regarding the next feature.
Custom cars and stages would naturally be among the most significant possibilities for a rally simulator, but neither has been confirmed and should not be treated as part of the announced roadmap.
For now, Update 0.6 represents a relatively controlled starting point: official templates, documented custom liveries and support for managing multiple community designs directly inside the game. What matters most is the wording surrounding that feature. Supernova has now publicly committed to expanding modding support in future updates.
For a title carrying the Assetto Corsa name, that could become one of the most important parts of Assetto Corsa Rally’s development if those tools eventually grow beyond liveries.
