Reiza Studios has announced the final development update for 2022 for its racing simulator, Automobilista 2. The update includes three DLC packs, three historical tracks, and a total of 12 new cars, evenly divided between race cars and road cars. An updated version of the game, AMS2 v1.4.5.0, will also be released, which will include gameplay improvements.

Latest news on the pending DLC packages of Automobilista 2

The packages include Supercars Pt1, Brazilian Racing Legends Pt1, and Historic Track Pack Pt1, which are set to be released in December 2022, as well as Nürburgring Historic 1971, Adrenaline Pack Pt1, a 6th Bonus Premium Track, and Racin’ USA Bonus Pack, which are scheduled to be released in early 2023.

The DLC packages that are set to be released in 2023 were originally part of the 2020-2022 Season Pass and Premium Expansion Packs but were delayed due to unspecified reasons.

The Supercars Pt1 DLC will include three road Supercars: the Corvette C8 Z06, the McLaren Senna, and the Brabham BT62. These cars will be split into three classes: Sports Cars, Supercars, and Hypercars, with the Supercars Pt1 DLC cars being placed in the Supercars and Hypercars classes.

The Brazilian Racing Legends Pt1 DLC will feature six historical Grand Prix cars, while the Historic Track Pack Pt1 DLC will include three historical tracks. The Nürburgring Historic 1971 DLC will be part of the Nürburgring DLC and will feature a 1971 version of the Nürburgring track.

The Adrenaline Pack Pt1 DLC and the 6th Bonus Premium Track DLC will be released in the first quarter of 2023, while the Racin’ USA Bonus Pack DLC will be released in the second quarter of 2023. Owners of the 2020-2022 Season Pass and Premium Expansion Packs will receive these DLC packages at no additional charge.

Any future DLCs that are released after the listed DLCs will not be included in the 2020-2022 Season Pass and will need to be purchased separately.

Brazilian Racing Legends DLC

The Brazilian Racing Legends DLC pack is a collection of cars driven by Brazilian drivers that won world championships in racing. The pack includes cars driven by Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, and Ayrton Senna, including the Brabham BT49, the Brabham BT52, the Lotus 98T, the McLaren MP4/4, the McLaren MP4/5B, and the McLaren MP4/6. The pack also includes a bonus car, the Lotus 98T, which was driven by Ayrton Senna in 1986.

The DLC pack has been in development for years and includes some of the most famous racing cars of all time. The cars in the pack will be available in the F-Retro Gen2 “ground effect” class, the F-Retro Gen1 “turbo” class, and the F-Modern Gen1 “V10” class in the game. The pack is expected to be released in December 2022.

Main Challenges

One of the main challenges is the lack of data and material available for these cars, as they are not often run at racing speeds. The text mentions the unique and exciting engine sounds of these cars, which include turbocharged BMW and Renault engines, as well as Honda V10 and V12 engines.

The lead audio designer for the game, Domagoj Lovric, has worked on these cars for the past 11 years and recently completed work on the final two cars in the collection. However, previews of the completed cars were not ready in time for the update because there is still some work to be done on them. The text also discusses the enjoyment of working on a team to recreate the magic of real-life race cars in a game.

Historical Track Pack Pt1 DLC

The Historical Track Pack Pt1 DLC pack for the racing simulator Automobilista 2 will include three historic tracks: Cascais 1988, Jerez 1988 and Bathurst 1983. The first two are more dangerous versions of modern tracks already included in the game, while the third is a mountain race with a dangerous crossing through the hills of Mount Panorama.

Track models are in their final stages of development and are expected to be available at the launch of the pack for $9.99 or €9.99. An updated version of the game, AMS2 v1.4.5.0, will also be released, which will include game improvements.
