BeamNG.drive PS5 Pro Gameplay Shows Split-Screen and Performance

BeamNG.drive PS5 Pro Gameplay

New BeamNG.drive gameplay running on PS5 Pro has provided the clearest look yet at how the demanding vehicle simulator performs on console. The pre-release build shows local split-screen running alongside normal gameplay, while also revealing noticeable performance drops when the simulation is pushed with large numbers of vehicles.

The footage comes from YouTuber MuYe, who received access to an early PS5 Pro build ahead of the game’s October 19 launch. It shows the console interface, regular driving and local multiplayer, giving players a much better indication of how BeamNG.drive has been adapted from PC.

Under typical driving conditions, the PS5 Pro version appears to run smoothly, including during split-screen play. The official PlayStation Store lists BeamNG.drive as supporting offline play for between one and four players, making local multiplayer one of the more significant additions arriving with the console version.

The tougher test comes when significantly more vehicles are spawned into the simulation. Frame rate drops become clearly visible as the workload increases, showing that even the additional power of PS5 Pro cannot completely remove the CPU demands associated with BeamNG.drive’s vehicle simulation.

That behaviour is not exclusive to the console port. Large numbers of simultaneously simulated vehicles can also have a substantial performance impact on PC, so the footage is better viewed as an indication of the engine’s limits rather than evidence of a specific problem with the PS5 version.

It is also important that this is pre-release footage rather than a benchmark of the final build. BeamNG has not published detailed performance targets covering every scenario, and further optimization may still take place before release.

BeamNG.drive Arrives on PS5 October 19

BeamNG.drive launches for PS5 on October 19, 2026. The developer has already confirmed that the console version will not support mods or VR at launch, while the team intends to pursue broader feature parity between platforms where possible.

The release is also tied closely to version 0.40, which is expected on PC around the same date. With the first PS5 Pro footage now showing split-screen and demanding multi-vehicle scenarios in action, the console port is beginning to offer a clearer picture of how much of the original BeamNG.drive experience has survived the move from PC.
