The LMDh is about to arrive in real competition for good next year, as this 2022 season has been a season of adaptation for the new category. This new category will compete with the Hypercars in the WEC and IMSA, replacing the now retired LMP1s. And it is none other than BMW that will have the first LMDh represented in the virtual world with the M Hybrid V8 in iRacing.
The BMW M Hybrid V8 is a sports racing prototype designed by BMW M and built by Dallara. It is designed to Le Mans Daytona h regulations, and will make its debut in the IMSA SportsCar Championship at the season-opening 24 Hours of Daytona. It marks BMW’s return to the top class of sports prototype racing since the 1999 BMW V12 LMR. The car will also compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship from 2024.
At the moment, we don’t have much more information about the car, or when it will be available on iRacing , but from the detailing of the model pictured, we would guess that it will be available from next season.
