Brabham Launch The Ultimate Racing Simulator

Description from BasePerformance about their new line of simulators licensed from a classic racing and F1 name such as Brabham.

Brabham, one of the most successful names in motorsport, has partnered with Base Performance Simulators to launch the Brabham Motorsport racing simulator. This limited edition racing simulator celebrates three defining eras in the history of the Brabham name in Formula 1 .

BT19

The 1966 BT19 is the car with which Sir Jack Brabham won his third Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship and Brabham’s first Constructors’ Championship.

It was a remarkable achievement because it made Jack Brabham the first and so far only driver to win the world championship in a car of his own construction.

The BT19 simulator reflects the green and gold color scheme of this pioneering era.

BT46B

The BT46B, also known as the “Fan Car”, was introduced at the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix as a counterpart to the dominant ground effect Lotus 79.

The design was so dominant that, after consultation with the sport’s governing body, the FIA, the then owner of the Brabham F1 team, Bernie Ecclestone, decided to withdraw the car from competition after just one race.

The BT46B simulator brings the red, white and blue of this iconic car back to life.

BT52

The BT52 was designed for the 1983 F1 season and took Nelson Piquet to his second world championship title at the height of the turbocharged Formula 1 years.

What makes this car so remarkable is that Gordon Murray and the design team had only six weeks to design the car after the FIA banned ground effect cars at the end of 1982, which meant that the planned BT51 could not race. Piquet made excellent use of the powerful BMW-powered BT52, which boasted more than 1,200 hp in qualifying, to defy the odds and take three wins en route to the title.

Distinctive blue and white livery sets will make this sim the centerpiece of any area.

Built on a specially commissioned powder coated rigid steel frame, the sim features a two pedal carbon fiber pedal box with electric forward/reverse adjustment and a custom made BPS carbon fiber racing seat.

The Brabham Motorsport racing simulator features the Precision Sim GPX steering wheel and is powered by a professional steering motor from Simucube. For sound and vision, it comes with a Cambridge Audio speaker system and Sennheiser headphones, plus a single 49″ curved Samsung monitor with a 120hz refresh rate, creating a fully immersive driving experience.

The simulator runs Assetto Corsa software and comes with all the car models and circuits used in the full-size single-seater and GT simulators at BPS’s Oxfordshire headquarters. Car models are constantly updated in-house with real data and validated by professional drivers. Track models are also regularly updated to keep up with subtle changes to the tracks, meaning that anyone using this simulator to prepare for their next real-world race will be up to date.
