China Opens Its Doors to Sim Racing

It was only a matter of time before Chinese manufacturers began to take over many of the devices that were being sent to be manufactured at the request of European and American brands. As is the case in all other sectors, manufacturing in China has resulted in an often unwanted transfer of skills, but one that results from progressively outsourcing the entire European industrial fabric in exchange for much cheaper production.

Since 2019 in particular, the Asian country has been extremely protagonist of our lives, and not always for good reasons. Coincidentally, for some time now some of the manufacturers have started toying with the idea of creating solutions and devices for simulation themselves as they have a market for components and raw materials at the tap of a phone in their own country.

Now we are beginning to see that not only Simagic, but other new brands are emerging in the heat of a growing market (simracing and Chinese) whose power of absorption is not entirely clear.

Simagic

They’re the oldest in the business in that country, as Ken HK Wong (apparently founder) was into iRacing and hardware forums proposing and showing some solutions as early as 2018. In the absence of personally testing some of their units, the latest Alpha and Alpha Mini models seem to have a quality up to expectations.

In Spain their distributor is Bolori who sells the entire ecosystem of the brand in which they cover wheels, bases, pedals and shifters.

Moza

Moza is Gudsen’s own brand, a company originally dedicated to the manufacture of audiovisual solutions for creators. This year it has jumped into the simracing market with a complete ecosystem of solutions; base, wheel, pedals and even display to make a complete set.

Cammus

A company that claims to be in existence since 2008 and creates different electrical and enhancement solutions for vehicles. They even have their own handmade model. Now they are daring with simulation with a complete ecosystem of wheels, base and pedals that make everything in house.
