Corsair Now Owns Fanatec: A Strategic Move for Growth

Recent operational and financial problems have brought the company to a critical point, forcing it to seek new strategies to ensure its future survival and prosperity.

In this context, Corsair, a giant in the gaming hardware and peripherals sector, has stepped in with a strategic acquisition.

As of May 31, Fanatec (as a brand) is owned by Corsair. This acquisition not only implies a change of ownership but is also part of a broader legal and financial restructuring process under the StaRUG framework.

This union allows both companies to capitalize on their strengths and open new opportunities in the market. Corsair provided Fanatec with a loan of approximately 4 million euros.

The acquisition of Fanatec by Corsair represents a significant opportunity for both companies. Fanatec gains the stability and resources needed to overcome its recent challenges, while Corsair expands its portfolio and strengthens its position in the racing simulation market.

  1. Incoming end of life support for all the Fanatec stuff and new rebranded and even an more propitiatory ecosystem for their “new” Corsair Sim racing line of products.

  2. From what I’ve read is the former Fanatec CEO Thomas Jackermeir is in China lining up better financing than Corsair has put up and is challenging Endors board to cease and desist and return his company that he owns the majority stock in. Thomas is also challenging Endors putting Fanatec into bankruptcy. This story is far from over and Corsair does not as yet own Fanatec.

  3. Thomas Jackermeier is a greedy loser who can’t accept that his failures put Fanatec where it is. The customer service and after sale support is abysmal and down right insulting. As an American I was left only with payment disputes to even get my paid for products.

I hope Jackereroff rides into the sunset of obscurity where he belongs. Corsair please save Fanatec!!

      • What nonsense!
It’s actually because of early pioneers in direct drive options including Leo Bodnar , Accuforce, Augury, OSW (DIY kits – I purchased my first from Tomo Meglic’s SimRacingBay in late 2016/early 2017 from memory) a kit that would become my first SimuCube V1 replacing the no longer developed OSW software.

SimRacingBay (Tomo Meglic) did more for the DD consumer market than any other retailer I can recall, during which time the terrific (but fatally expensive) Augury system was pushed out of the way by these new, far less expensive OSW kits put together by SimRacingBay.

SimuCube were the real catalyst for the DD market we see today and are still synonymous with DD sim racing equipment in our circles.
It was these guys who paved the way for us all to have DD options, instead of Fanatec’s overpriced belt driven shit.
Fanatec jumped on the bandwagon that had been already rolling for many years, they certainly didn’t start it.
Moza, Asutek and others have done a great job pushing things forward giving today’s customers many options.

Fanatec are still synonymous with the worst customer support experience you could have in this sim racing peripherals market.

Here’s some more information you could have easily found yourself before making such a horse’s ass comment.

  4. Love how jackoff is paraded out in Montreal, can’t even get there product in north america, Logitech pro for the win , at least you know you’ll get it

  5. Where do you see that the acquisition by Corsair is complete?

I don’t see any official documentation supporting what you wrote….

  6. I totally agree that Thomas is the problem with Fanatec and I’ll never own one of their products again. I’m just reporting the deal is far from being done with Corsair but I sure hope it happens and Fanatec products show up on retail and you’ll actually get your order in this lifetime.

  7. I just hope I get my podium back that stopped working for reasons that are still unclear months after they have received my RMA’d device.. had to buy a DD extreme to use with my pedals in the meantime.. I guess that’s a good marketing strategy

  8. Having been on the receiving end of Fanatec’s delivery process, I think Corsair taking control won’t necessarily be a bad thing (apart from the abundance of rgb on everything, possibly). Fanatec simply couldn’t deliver and over promised. If Jackermeister manages to claim his company back, its going to be more of the same.
