Cosworth, the historic British company specializing in technology and data analysis for professional motorsport, has announced a collaboration with iRacing aimed at bringing high-level analysis tools closer to the sim racing community. Specifically, both companies will allow users to access Pi Toolbox Plus free of charge for a limited time, one of the most widely used telemetry analysis platforms in real-world competition, coinciding with the running of the iRacing Daytona 24.
Free, limited-time access during event preparation
According to Cosworth and iRacing, starting on January 7, 2026, platform members will be able to use Pi Toolbox Plus at no cost for a 14-day period. This access will allow drivers, engineers, and teams to prepare for and analyze their performance before, during, and after one of the most important endurance races on the virtual calendar, widely regarded as one of the most demanding and closely followed events worldwide.
The tool being made available to users is the same one commonly used in professional motorsport, where data analysis plays a decisive role in performance optimization and strategic decision-making. With Pi Toolbox Plus, participants will be able to study lap-by-lap consistency, driving differences across stints, and vehicle behavior under braking, acceleration, and cornering.
Beyond lap times
The analysis provided by the platform goes beyond simple timing data, helping to identify performance opportunities that are not always immediately apparent. As a result, both drivers and engineers can gain a more accurate view of overall performance during practice sessions and endurance races.
Temporary access to Pi Toolbox Plus will cover different phases of the event, including pre-event testing sessions, strategic preparation, live analysis during the race, and post-stint or post-race performance review.
How to access Pi Toolbox Plus in iRacing
To use the tool, users must download the Pi Toolbox Plus software and the telemetry converter from Cosworth’s platform and activate the free trial. Access will be available until January 21, 2026, when it will be automatically deactivated. Once configured, the system allows immediate analysis of data generated in iRacing.
Getting started is simple:
- Download Pi Toolbox at https://members.cosworth.com/pi-toolbox
- Download the telemetry converter at https://members.cosworth.com/telemetry-converter
- Activate your free Pi Toolbox Plus trial. Available for 14 days, then automatically removed on 21st January 2026.
Data analysis also takes center stage in the broadcast
During the official iRacing Daytona 24 broadcast, different views and analyses created with Pi Toolbox Plus will be showcased, offering viewers an inside look at how data-driven insights influence strategy, performance, and race execution.
Although this is a limited-time initiative, the collaboration between Cosworth and iRacing highlights the growing convergence between real-world and virtual motorsport, particularly in the use of advanced data analysis tools. Through this partnership, both companies aim to raise the competitive level of the event and provide the community with an experience that is increasingly closer to the professional environment.
