Although the drivers’ championship for the 2022 season has already been decided with Max Verstappen’s victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, Codemasters and Electronic Arts will continue to add new features to F1 22 in the coming weeks. The special McLaren livery seen in recent races will remain available to players of this annual official Formula 1 installment, but there will be more content to come.
F1 22 will receive a series of updates beginning this week, including the 2022 season of F2, the competition below Formula 1 that usually gives young drivers access to the grand prix. This season, players will be able to compete in 14 rounds against drivers such as champion Felipe Drugovich and race in F2 Sprint races.
Veterans, on the other hand, will be grateful for the surprise Codemasters has planned for October 17th. Mika Häkinnen, the ‘flying Finn,’ will be a new icon in F1 22’s My Team mode as of that date. He is one of three Finnish drivers (along with Keke Rosberg and Kimi Räikkönen) to have won the world championship, which he did twice in 1998 and 1999.
Mika Häkkinen is the new My Team mode icon. Users who purchased the Champions Edition will have access to the icon, but everyone else will have access to free content soon. To coincide with the arrival of Formula 1 in North America, an American-inspired livery, helmet, racing suit, and gloves will be available beginning on October 17. Podium Pass Series 3 launches today, October 12, and will include a new podium celebration and other items.
