In a recent post in the Dallara IR-01 Forums on iRacing, Greg West, iRacing Staff Member, shows us some of the changes that will come to this category next season.
“The series will move up to the B level beginning with Season 2 and have race lengths reduced to ~45 minutes. We (by popular demand) are also moving to standing starts. The gear stack has been adjusted to make this more manageable. Tire compounds have been adjusted as well to allow for all 3 to still be viable options for the shorter race lengths.”
Other car specific updates include:
- New Damage Model is slated to be included with the build.
- Aerodynamics have been adjusted to give a wider working range for the front wing. Around 0 wing should give the same balance
members are currently seeing at 12 wing. - Overall grip of the tires has been increased.
- Falloff of the soft and medium tire have been significantly increased, in hot conditions (50c track temp) fall off will be more than 2 seconds in 10 laps on the soft tire.
- Rear ARB rates have been adjusted to improve stability of the rear.
- Aero push while following has been reduced.
- Fuel tank size has been reduced to 80 liters.
- For week 13, we will have the iR-01 available in a fun series to allow members to become acquainted. Look forward to seeing everyone out on the track!
See you on the track!
