SteamVR or Windows Mixed Reality HMD’s keep relaying on SteamVR to make things work. And this little program has the bad habit to enable a permanent Home running in background while we playing or even headset is on standby situation. You can avoid it and get this performance back.
This is a very straight forward guide to disable Home and Layout of SteamVR:
- Enable Developer Settings on settings SteamVR menu on your PC, not on the headset.
- In the General tab, last option is to disable SteamVR Home.
- In the Dashboard tab, disable the last option, which refers to VR dashboard on System Button.
And that’s all. You have finished with Home and got your resources back.
