Currently, the limit for different cars on track in iRacing is 7, that is why they have been removing cars from the IMSA and European series to make way for the new ones that are coming out or in the case of the VRS the BMW Z4 was replaced by the new BMW M4 GT3, but from next season this will change and now there will be 8 different cars that can be seen on track at the same time.
This has been confirmed in the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen forum posting, where they indicate that the cars that will be racing will be as follows:
- LMP2:
- Dallara P217
- GTE:
- BMW M8 GTE
- Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE
- Ferrari 488 GTE
- Porsche 911 RSR
- GT3
- BMW M4 GT3 – Prototype
- Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO
- Porsche 911 GT3 R
We can assume that the IMSA series will see the new Porsche 911 GT3 R competing alongside the cars that were there before and the same car will enter the VRS without the need to sacrifice any other cars. On the other hand, we still don’t know what will happen in the European Sprint (formerly Le Mans) – will the BMW M8 GTE enter? Will they bring out a new LMP2?
See you on the track!
