eSports future?

A couple of weeks ago there was an article talking about iRacing in the UK Vice edition.

Since eSports caught an average attention from the general media, this question has been continuously flowing around us. While League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive are the successful exponents of this new discipline, many of long living sagas are working to stand out from the rest. Street Fighter, one of the oldest, is showing us EVO annual event as the main event for fighting games players gaining even more press attention every year.

In the meanwhile iRacing has always been offering big prizes in its annual championships and being considered as a valuable training tool for the professional drivers but there is a long way to go and the first investment to enjoy it makes future perspectives less crazy than this article title speculate.
