EA Sports F1 25 is coming to PlayStation Plus as one of the monthly games for October 2026. PS5 players with an active PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra or Premium subscription will be able to claim the Formula 1 game from October 6 until November 2 at no additional cost.
Sony confirmed F1 25 as part of October’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup alongside Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. Once F1 25 has been added to a player’s library during the promotion, it can continue to be downloaded and played while the associated PlayStation Plus subscription remains active.
F1 25 arrives on PlayStation Plus October 6
F1 25 will become available on Tuesday, October 6, with PlayStation Plus members having until Monday, November 2 to add it to their libraries. Monthly Games are included across all three PlayStation Plus tiers, meaning Essential subscribers receive access alongside Extra and Premium members.
The PlayStation Plus release is specifically the PS5 version of F1 25. EA and Codemasters originally released the game on May 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the title serving as the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship.
F1 25 includes Career, the redesigned My Team 2.0 and online multiplayer through F1 World. The game also introduced substantially revised versions of several circuits using LiDAR data, with Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka and Imola among the tracks receiving more accurate recreations.
The PlayStation Plus version does not include the 2026 Season Pack
There is an important distinction for players joining F1 25 through PlayStation Plus in October. Sony lists F1 25 as the Monthly Game rather than F1 25: 2026 Season Edition, meaning the additional 2026 Season Pack is not listed as part of the PlayStation Plus offer.
EA launched the 2026 Season Pack in June as additional content for existing F1 25 owners. Alternatively, new players can purchase the 2026 Season Edition, which combines the original game and the Season Pack in a single package.
The 2026 expansion makes substantial changes to F1 25, adding the current Formula 1 grid with Audi and Cadillac, revised driver line-ups, the new technical regulations, active aerodynamics and Overtake Mode. It also introduces MADRING, the new Madrid circuit, which is only driveable using the 2026 cars.
EA has continued updating that content throughout the season. September’s F1 25 Update 1.25 added the full 2026 Formula 2 championship, the latest Formula 1 Sports Update and expanded support for Simagic hardware.
A much cheaper entry point into F1 25
For PlayStation racers who skipped F1 25 at launch, October’s Monthly Games lineup provides a straightforward way to try the complete original game without purchasing it separately. Players can use Career, My Team and F1 World before deciding whether the additional 2026 content is worth adding.
This also means that existing PlayStation Plus members interested primarily in sim racing hardware compatibility or online Formula 1 racing can add F1 25 permanently to their PS Plus library during the claim window, subject to maintaining an active subscription.
Sony notes that PlayStation Plus lineups can vary by region, so players should check their regional PlayStation Store when the October games become available.
F1 25 will be available to claim through PlayStation Plus from October 6 until November 2, 2026. More information is available in the official PlayStation announcement.
