Fanatec has recently introduced the CSL Universal Hub V2 to the market. This new offering builds upon the success of its predecessor, the ClubSport Universal Hub, while delivering an impressive array of features at a more accessible price point.
You can purchase it here!
One standout feature of the CSL Universal Hub V2 is its innovative slider mechanism. This mechanism allows users to effortlessly adjust the positioning of button islands and shifter paddles to accommodate different wheel sizes. The stepless slider ensures precise adjustments, enhancing the overall user experience.
The CSL Universal Hub V2 is incredibly versatile when it comes to wheel rim compatibility. It boasts threaded holes for wheel rims with both 3 x 50 mm and 6 x 70 mm patterns, making it compatible with all current Fanatec wheel rims. Moreover, it can also accommodate wheel rims from other reputable brands such as MOMO, Sparco, and OMP, further expanding customization options.
This universal hub comes loaded with features and refinements. The integrated button islands, display, and shifters seamlessly work with various wheel rim combinations. With the V2, Fanatec has reinforced the hub’s structure with additional metal bracing, enhancing rigidity by up to 23%. The shifter paddle design has also been revised for improved functionality and comfort.
The CSL Universal Hub V2 offers an extensive array of inputs. In addition to eight standard buttons with snap-dome activation, it features a 2-way rocker switch, two 2-way toggle switches, and a 7-way FunkySwitch™ with rotary encoder functionality. These inputs provide racers with ample control options to fine-tune their driving experience.
The shifter paddles of the CSL Universal Hub V2 have been engineered with a honeycomb structure for enhanced durability. They are designed to fit most wheel rims comfortably and have a revised shape for improved ergonomic support. The width of the paddle positions can be adjusted alongside the button islands, thanks to the slider system.
One of the highlights of this universal hub is its seamless access to the FANATEC® Tuning Menu. Racers can make adjustments to wheel base force feedback and other hardware settings on the fly, thanks to the integrated button islands and a dedicated Tuning Button.
The 7-way FunkySwitch serves as a versatile input device, offering d-pad, push-button, and rotary encoder functionality. Users can press the Tuning Button to bring up the Tuning Menu on the integrated display and effortlessly adjust settings using the FunkySwitch.
The CSL Universal Hub V2 includes the QR1 Lite Wheel-Side, which can be securely clamped to the steering shaft by hand, without the need for tools. For those seeking even more torque and performance, the metal QR1 Wheel-Side is available separately, unlocking High Torque Mode on Podium wheel bases. Moreover, it can be easily upgraded to the next-generation QR2 system, which is slated for release soon.
