Through the news of Fanatec’s acquisition by Corsair, we have learned that one of the patents belonging to the German company contains an important item that has yet to be developed.
Part of the agreements signed by Corsair and Fanatec include the transfer of designs, patents, and trademarks. Among them, we can find various new developments regarding the patents presented by Fanatec, and we came across the Porsche Vision GT steering wheel as a potential future addition to the company’s ecosystem.
The patent was filed in May 2023, so, knowing the timelines that Fanatec usually takes, it doesn’t seem to be a priority right now, but it indicates an interesting direction for the future. The Porsche Vision GT is a fictional car from the Gran Turismo 7 universe, and its only “real” component would be this steering wheel.
The car has been present in Polyphony’s game since September 2022. It is unclear whether we will be able to enjoy this accessory at some point in the future.
