The Ferrari prototype selected by Kazunori Yamauchi at Pebble Beach now joins the list of Gran Turismo Trophy winners, although its inclusion in a future Gran Turismo game has not been confirmed.

The Ferrari 250 GT Sperimentale has won the 2026 Gran Turismo Trophy at the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.

The car was selected by Gran Turismo creator and Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi, who has been involved with the award since it was established in 2008.

Winning the trophy makes the Ferrari a possible candidate for a future Gran Turismo appearance, but Polyphony Digital has not confirmed that it will be added to Gran Turismo 7 or any future title.

The Ferrari 250 GT Sperimentale helped shape the 250 GTO

The Ferrari 250 GT Sperimentale is an experimental competition car closely connected to the development of the 250 GTO.

Built around Ferrari’s 250 GT platform, it combined elements of the existing GT cars with ideas being explored for the company’s next generation of competition machinery.

Its place in that development process makes it one of the more significant cars from the period leading to the Ferrari 250 GTO.

The Gran Turismo Trophy has been awarded since 2008

The Gran Turismo Trophy was established at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2008.

Kazunori Yamauchi selects a car that combines design, performance and historical significance, with the award also associated with vehicles considered suitable for preservation in Gran Turismo.

Several previous winners have later appeared in the series.

The 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Pinin Farina Coupe, for example, won the Gran Turismo Trophy in 2012 and is now available in Gran Turismo 7.

That history makes the 250 GT Sperimentale an obvious candidate for digital recreation, but there is no confirmation that Polyphony Digital has started that process.

For now, the Ferrari 250 GT Sperimentale joins the list of Gran Turismo Trophy winners without a confirmed in-game release date.
