Ferrari announces FERRARI ESPORTS 2022

Press release from Ferrari Esports about the 2022 Ferrari Esports Series to be held for the first time on Assetto Corsa Competizione .

The worldwide growth of eSports seems unstoppable, more and more people trust in this discipline that is capable of transforming passion into emotions. There is a very special passion, the ‘red passion’ that from April will spread among thousands of simulation pilots from all over the planet and that this year includes even more news that will surely ignite a passionate flame in the hearts of its fans.

The first piece of news for 2022 is that the team has a new name, starting this year it will be called ‘Scuderia Ferrari Velas Esports Team’ thanks to its new main sponsor, Velas, a Swiss company dedicated to the creation and integration of technological products and services and led by a diverse team of engineers, cryptographers, researchers and mathematicians. Velas is one of the leading players in the blockchain and NFT sector and has distinguished itself for its performance and the innovation of the services it offers, characteristics that unite it with the Maranello team.

Kamil Pawlowsky, the 24-year-old Polish driver who won the last edition of the Ferrari Esports Series after a spectacular fight in December in the final corners of Mugello, joins the team, which has just renewed its look and name for next season. To commemorate this important moment, official Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz welcomed Kamil upon his arrival in Italy and presented the talented esports driver with the Ferrari Esports Series champion trophy, the first of many milestones that are sure to await the new member of Scuderia Ferrari Velas Esports in 2022.

More than 30,000 drivers competed last year in the ‘Ferrari Esports Series’ championship, which was an even greater achievement than in the previous edition, continuing a successful trajectory each year with more and more repercussions among the public and the media. The date to mark on the stage for the start of the new season of the Ferrari Velas Esports Series 2022 is March 22 at 9:00 pm CET. A special streaming on Ferrari’s Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/ferrariesports) will kick off the new season; it will feature several special guests on the broadcast and mark the official start of tournament registrations. All information and the registration form are available at ferrariesportsseries.gg.

Once again, the new season will include numerous new and exciting features, such as the confirmation that the Ferrari Velas Esports Series will use the incredible ‘ Assetto Corsa Competizione ‘ platform for the first time, alongside the highly respected ‘ Assetto Corsa ‘ simulation that has been present throughout the history of the competition.

Both simulators have been developed by Kunos Simulazione and, in the case of Assetto Corsa Competizione , the 2022 series will add some special content for the first time.

Also confirmed for this year is the possibility for the winner to access the ‘Scuderia Ferrari’ Esports program for 2023, an opportunity that, for the first time, will not only be reserved for European virtual drivers, but extended to sim drivers from other continents. All information will be released during the online event on March 22 at 21:00 CET on the Ferrari Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/ferrariesports).

Last but not least, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new Ferrari Esports Facebook page: a dynamic new channel that has been designed to bring fans of the ‘Rosse di Maranello’ closer than ever to the heart of the action. (https://www.facebook.com/ferrariesports)
