Ferrari Esports has released a statement regarding the 2022 Ferrari Esports Series, which will be held for the first time on Assetto Corsa Competizione. There are still a few spots available in the qualifiers. Carlos Sainz will driver the car.
Ferrari is pleased to announce that two of the most exciting esports races of the season, the Ferrari Velas Esports North American and European Championship Qualifiers, will take place in June. On Monday, June 13, the European Championship Qualifiers will begin, followed by the North American Championship Qualifiers on Tuesday, June 14. Drivers interested in making a name for themselves in the racing esports scene can sign up at www.ferrariesportsseries.gg.
The championship will be held on ‘Assetto Corsa’ and will be accompanied by ‘Assetto Corsa Competizione,’ both of which are driving simulators developed by Kunos Simulazioni. The inclusion of special Ferrari content on a platform as well regarded as the championship’s stars, the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo and Ferrari 488 Challenge Eco, will be a proud moment for the series.
The Ferrari Velas Esports North American Championship qualifiers will be presented by Amanda Busick, who will also serve as the official presenter for the entire 2022 season, while the European races will be presented by Nicki Shields and Paul Jeffrey this year. Furthermore, the telecast will include F1 star Carlos Sainz, who will appear on both the European and North American championship telecasts.
“We are thrilled to have Amanda join our presenters this season, and having Carlos as a special guest adds an extra layer of excitement to the races,” says Charlie Turner, Ferrari’s director of content. “The races in both championships will feature new racers, and having Amanda analyze everything will undoubtedly make the events even more fun.”
The two championships will be live streamed on Ferrari’s Twitch channel as well as the new Facebook Gaming Page. The European competition will begin at 21.00 CEST on June 13 and the American competition will begin at 21.00 EDT on June 14. Viewers will not only be able to see four great races for each region, but they will also be able to win official Ferrari themed prizes simply for tuning in. Viewers who register on the official website will be entered into a drawing to win an official Scuderia Ferrari 2022 replica hoodie, a Ferrari Scudetto T-shirt, and an official Scuderia Ferrari 2022 replica cap.
Registered drivers will compete in one of two parallel tournaments, European and North American, each divided into 8 elimination rounds (4 in ‘Assetto Corsa Competizione’ and 4 in ‘Assetto corsa’) that will run from April to August. The championships will end with a double round, with the European regional finals taking place on September 13 and the North American regional finals on September 14. The season will end with a grand finale to be held in Italy on October 2, 2022 where the top three drivers from both regions will face off in an innovative format that will be revealed at the conclusion of the regional finals.
The winner of the Ferrari Velas Esports Series will have the opportunity to join the highly successful Scuderia Ferrari Velas Esports Team in 2023. This is the first time this option has been extended to racers residing in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
