Ferrari Esports Series 2021: qualifications are OPEN

Ferrari has announced the launch of the second season of the official Ferrari Esports Series, inviting all SimRacers to compete and demonstrate their driving skills from the comfort of their own living room.

Brendon Leigh, the first Formula 1 Esports champion and now real-life racing driver to join the official Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) esports team for the 2021 season has encouraged aspiring simulation drivers to sign up for this year’s Ferrari Esports Series.

The qualifying phase – comprising four hotlap sessions to decide which entrants qualify, will be held between April and July and is open to drivers from across the UK and Europe.

The first qualifiers will be held until April 18, they are being held at the world-famous Brands Hatch circuit, which has been laser-scanned to ensure maximum fidelity. Anyone wishing to participate can consult this guide [URL] which will help them to optimize their performance on the tricky British circuit.

Brendon Leigh, official esports driver – Ferrari Driver Academy said:

“If you love simulation racing and want to test your skills against the best drivers in Europe, the Ferrari Esports Series is the best place to start, I encourage all talented racing drivers to take part. You never know, you might be the one who gets the chance to race with us in the FDA team next year. The competition is very intense and you will have to work hard, but being a professional esports driver as part of the Ferrari team in Maranello has changed my life: I truly wish the best of luck to all the participants of the 2021 Series.”

Ferrari will offer an extraordinary prize that money can’t buy, for the winner of the Grand Final: the opportunity to become an official esports racing driver and join the beloved Ferrari Driver Academy esports team at Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello.

*The 2021 championship will use Kunos Simulazioni’s Assetto Corsa and will feature four real-world Ferrari cars, including two that will be available only to drivers who register for the Series, the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo and the brand new Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo.

So far, 10,000 talented simulation drivers from all over Europe have registered for the 2021 Series, which is double the number of participants of the first season, held last year. The 2020 Series was won by 21-year-old Italian racer Giovanni Da Salvo, who emerged victorious after a hard-fought tournament.

Two additional elements have been added to the 2021 competition to add to the fun and competitiveness: registered players will be able to participate in various prize draws throughout the season; there are a selection of extraordinary prizes up for grabs (more details to be announced soon). The race broadcast team will announce the winner of each draw live.

Secondly, 2021 will also see an original official competition designed especially for Ferrari esports fans with artistic creativity: the brand new Car Livery Competition. Participants will be able to create and submit liveries for the four cars used in the series through a website created for this purpose. The best of the liveries will be shared on Ferrari’s official social channels and the design most liked by the Ferrari community will be incorporated into the game and used during the official races of the series.

All the action will be streamed on the Ferrari Esport Twitch Channel https://www.twitch.tv/ferrariesports on the last Tuesday of every month from the end of August until the end of the season.
