Season 1 of 2020 is just around the corner and we already have the first changes that will be in the series for next season. Greg West, iRacing STAFF member wrote the following changes:
Riding on the success of the BMW 120 special events in 2019, the Ferrari GT3 Challenge series will be re-branded the “BMW 12.0” beginning with S1 2020.
While the format will be similar, the races will now be 12 minutes long and feature the BMW M8 GTE. The setups will also stay fixed.
The updated series will also feature a schedule that mirrors that of the Formula Sprint series to minimize the burden of purchasing different tracks for different series. While the 2 series may not use the same layouts for all tracks, they will mirror each other on a week-to-week basis. The schedules for both series will be announced closer to the beginning of the season.
The Ferrari GT3 is still available to race in both the VRS Sprint and VRS Endurance series’.
What do you think of this change for the next season?
See you on the track!
