After many back-and-forths and false starts, the Simucube 3 Ultimate goes on sale today. This 35Nm Direct Drive wheelbase is arguably the most advanced on the entire commercial market. Here is the announcement from Simucube (Granite Devices).
Today, Simucube announces that Simucube 3 Ultimate will be available to order on June 16. Priced at €2,679 excluding VAT, SC3 Ultimate is the pinnacle of the Simucube direct-drive line and is built for the final 1% of sim racing drivers.
SC3 Ultimate was first announced alongside the Simucube 3 family in October 2025. It is now shipping, with first units available from June 16th, 2026.

A new motor architecture
At the core of SC3 Ultimate is a custom spoke-type IPM (Interior Permanent Magnet) motor, an architecture used in high-performance EV drivetrains and now engineered specifically for sim racing.
The spoke-type geometry concentrates the magnetic field more densely than conventional SPM motors, delivering 35 Nm of peak torque at the highest response speed in the Simucube line, while running cooler and quieter under continuous load.
Manufacturing the motor to the tolerances required demanded a purpose-built, temperature-controlled production environment. Every motor is tested against strict acceptance criteria for cogging and friction before it is cleared for assembly.
Per-unit digital twin calibration
Each SC3 Ultimate runs a software-based digital twin of itself. During manufacturing, thousands of data points are collected from that specific unit. From this data, a complete digital model of that motor is built inside the control algorithm. The physical motor then follows its digital twin, meaning the algorithm is always controlling an ideal motor, with every real-world imperfection of that unit already accounted for.
Every SC3 Ultimate is unique in calibration. Every SC3 Ultimate feels consistent across the line.
LightBridge and the Simucube Link platform
SC3 Ultimate connects to Link-native steering wheels via LightBridge, a contactless system inside the wheelbase that transfers data through infrared and power through induction. There are no cables, no slip rings, and no wearing components inside the quick release. Wheel swaps take seconds and the system degrades nothing over time.
The wheelbase runs the full Simucube Link platform, connecting the wheelbase, ActivePedal, and Link-native wheels through one hub, one app, and one cable to the PC. The Link Hub isolates the rig from USB disconnections, power surges, and electromagnetic interference. Telemetry-based effects — ABS, RPM, road texture — layer real-time signal from the simulation on top of the base force feedback.
