First impressions about the iRacing Arcade Demo

iRacing Arcade, the first title of the Original Fire Games developer under the iRacing umbrella, already has a demo available on Steam. I will summarize some of the impressions I got in this brief session.

This Monday was an important day for the Canadian developer Original Fire Games, as it had been a couple of years of hard work, and its first title under iRacing Studios was unveiled to the general public in the form of a demo.

This developer was already known for the Circuit Superstars saga, and iRacing tried to find a new niche around the idea. Now, with the licensed content, the possibilities are nearly infinite. The developer’s talent, combined with the iRacing resources, to produced a very fine title, as we expect. And we have some of this in this little demo.

The Demo itself

The demo weighs barely 1,7 GB and contains only the necessary elements to get a glimpse of the future title. You get one track, Tsukuba, and one car, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, that’s all. With those elements, you get the main point in a driving title, the handling controls, and the feeling on the track. Being an arcade has its pros and cons. You have to be very affordable, but hard enough to allow a steep learning curve.

The game allows you to have a feeling of the potential final title with a Qualy and a Race between 12 challengers. The format is similar to iRacing, with 2 laps per Q and a brief race of 6 laps around an adapted Tsukuba track. The handling is very easy, and it’s very addictive. The car can turn with ease, but it can be difficult to control the throttle. The collisions are fine, and there are 3 indicators of de tire wear, damage, and fuel. The IA is fine to drive with, and it makes mistakes like human drivers.

Visually, everything is pleasant and beautiful. The cars are gorgeous, and the track is easily recognizable with many live elements around it. The game itself never has a glitch or a crash. Everything went flawlessly with a very solid experience. Being a demo, it is somehow remarkable.

The hardest levels are there to remind us of the potential of the final title and combinations with all the expected content. We will see what happens in December, and if this “Arcade” branch fills that gap, we feel after getting out of the cockpit. Seems a very promising approach.

The game will be released on 2nd December 2025. Here you have the trailer recently published:
