Forza EmuWheel & OSW

For those of you who didn’t know, until just a few weeks ago, Forza Motorsport 7 did not have any form of OSW-type Direct Drive Steering Wheel support. It’s partly their lack of support for these devices that makes the Forza Motorsport series considered by many to be a mere simcade incapable of competing with hardcore simracing titles.

This news doesn’t create a huge change in their perception, but it does allow many users with these types of wheels to see their investment rewarded when it comes to enjoying the Microsoft-sponsored title.

Forza EmuWheel is a small middle-range program that allows you to use a variety of high-end devices that were not previously supported in a normal way. And it’s not just for Forza Motorsport 7, but also Forza 6, Forza Horizon 3 and Apex.

It is currently in version 1.4a, which you can get from this link and the configuration and use of it can be seen at this other link.

Below are some of the parameters used within the game for the OSW:

Rotation: 540°.
Vibration Scale: 100
Force Feedback Scale: 75
Steering Sensitivity: 50
Steering Linearity: 50
Force Feedback Understeer: 80 (probably too high)
Force Feedback Minimum Force: 80
Wheel Damper Scale: 0
Center Spring Scale: 0
Use Gamepad Steering Filters: Off

It is recommended that you lower the FFB scale and increase Center Spring by 20% to 40% depending on the vehicle. Understeer is best left at 20%.

See you on the track!
