Turn 10 Studios’ Team has released a statement regarding the improvements they are working on for Forza Motorsport since there have been no new updates since early December. Below is the message for the community:
Message to the Community
We are taking a moment at the beginning of this year to thank you for your support and feedback since the launch, reflect on some of the things we have learned, and share what you can expect from us in the coming months.
While we have been focused on adding cars, tracks, patches, and other improvements, we want to first acknowledge the three main areas of feedback that we have not directly addressed. Here is what we have heard from you.
Vehicle Progression
It is evident that, while many of our players are enjoying the system as it is, for many others, it is not providing the upgrade experience they expect from Forza Motorsport. Our goal with these changes is to retain what works for those who enjoy it while addressing the issues that many of our more dedicated players have with the system.
Race Regulations
Forza Race Regulations are not working as intended in some situations. We have heard about inconsistent or unfair penalties in cases of intentional collisions, being pushed off the track, and spinning cars pushing drivers off the track. We have also heard that high-speed collisions sometimes have no penalties, while low-speed collisions result in mild penalties.
In the coming months, we will work with some longtime competitive Motorsport players to collect direct telemetry from them while playing. They will capture these cases and provide data to our team so that we can make adjustments to make Forza Race Regulations more accurate and reliable.
Artificial Intelligence
We have seen feedback about the driving behavior of our AI: abrupt braking and sudden deceleration, lack of acceleration when exiting curves, overly strong braking in gentle curves, and strict adherence to racing lines. We understand how important it is to have fair and competitive AI in Motorsport, and our top priorities in early 2024 are to address overly aggressive AI while achieving a cleaner start in turn 1, where many of the mentioned issues manifest and impact players most severely.
These three mentioned areas will have a solution in 2024. We will update you in upcoming patches if any of these issues are resolved.
