In anticipation of the upcoming release of Forza Motorsport, as you already know, scheduled for October 10th of this year, new details continue to emerge regarding certain aspects of the title itself. In the August edition of Forza Monthly, fresh insights into the multiplayer functionality have been unveiled.
As mentioned earlier, during the Forza Monthly session held yesterday, we were treated to a glimpse into the inner workings of Forza Motorsport, including its multiplayer modes and the added features designed to uphold fair competition through ranking systems.
Highlighted Multiplayer Features
“The Highlighted Multiplayer hosts special events for various car divisions such as GT cars, LMP1 cars, and touring cars, along with open class events and featured events, along with a ranking series tailored for our new players. Each event has a registration cap and an official start time, operating live on our servers. Prior to joining, you’ll be provided with track layout, lap count, time of day, weather conditions, and temperature.”
In summary, the Highlighted Multiplayer serves as a hub, offering an array of distinct series. Typically, new events will commence every 30 minutes, ensuring participants can join in after each race.
Two distinct types will be available: specific series and open series (fixed and open).
Furthermore, it incorporates an array of pit stop features, introducing the dimension of managing your tire compounds and fuel load for optimal endurance racing performance.
Penalty System
We’ve undergone extensive revisions to the Forza Race Regulations. FRR has seen substantial evolution from Forza Motorsport 7, thanks to machine learning through artificial intelligence.
The system now detects track cutting, intentional collisions, and overall aggressive driving, expanding from identifying a few potential infractions in Forza Motorsport 7 to thousands in the new Forza Motorsport. Players will face penalties and disqualifications based on the severity of the incidents during races.
Matchmaking in the Highlighted Multiplayer utilizes both your Driver Rank and Safety Rank to pair you with similar players. Driver Ranks are based on skill, whereas Safety Ranks are influenced by on-track behavior.
With Safety Ranks, players are rated from S to F for clean races, ensuring that clean and skilled racers are grouped together, while those with a history of unsporting conduct are kept isolated within their own category.
