Yesterday was an Xbox event, and many games were displayed. One of them is the one that interests us, and is that the Forza Motorsport saga has been waiting many years for a new installment of the franchise in order to compete head to head with Gran Turismo and Sony. Let’s see what they’ve come up with.
We got under the hood today at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase to share what we’ve been working on: the next generation of Forza Motorsport to immerse you in the spectacle of racing like you’ve never seen before.
Fan favorites are back, as are new locations
We present a new trailer, captured in-game and running on Xbox Series X, that debuted alongside the first Forza Motorsport game, showing how Maple Valley, a beloved and fan-favorite track from the first Motorsport game released in 2005, comes to life in stunning detail and beauty.
In addition to Maple Valley, our trailer introduced players to fan-favorite circuits, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Laguna Seca Raceway. We also revealed the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, a South African track making its debut in Forza Motorsport, and the new Hakone Circuit, located in Japan, an original high-speed Grand Prix circuit built to showcase the technically advanced and cutting-edge immersion of the new Forza Motorsport.
Built for immersion and more dynamic than ever before
Forza Motorsport has been built from the ground up to showcase Xbox X Series X|S consoles. The precision of our revised physics, the beauty of our cars and tracks, our new dynamic time of day, advanced car damage and real-time ray tracing on the track lead to a generational leap in immersion. The new Forza Motorsport is the most technically advanced racing game ever.
A key element of Forza Motorsport is our fully dynamic time-of-day system, which brings tracks to life in stunning detail and, like the weather, will be available on all tracks. Changes in the time of day alter ambient temperatures, which in turn affect track surface temperatures. These changes in track temperature will affect your car’s grip, as will the rubber and weather. These new simulation details add more depth, drama and dynamics to the racing experience.
We’ve completely overhauled the core driving experience to take advantage of the power of the Xbox series consoles. This includes a 48x improvement in the fidelity of our physics simulation. Based on your feedback, we’ve introduced new features such as tire and fuel management, multiple tire compounds and an in-depth new car build to create the ultimate racing game. All of this comes to life in the pits, where advanced materials and shaders, along with ray tracing, bring an incredible level of detail to the gold heat wrap, anodized aluminum and carbon fiber. The ray tracing especially shines in the engine compartments with its complex self-reflection.
Show off battle damage
In Forza Motorsport, car damage is reproduced down to the individual scratches on the bodywork. There are all-new simulation details in the directionality of damage, how paint peels off on exposed and raised edges, wheel abrasions and dirt buildup. Car damage is a reality of racing and has been authentically captured in the new Forza Motorsport.
We look forward to sharing more details about Forza Motorsport soon. In the meantime, tune in to Forza Monthly this Thursday, June 16 on our official Twitch and YouTube channels, where I’ll be showing you the trailer.
