Official Launch Event
The Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program was officially introduced on June 18 during an event at the Nürburgring, featuring prominent figures such as Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis Chief Creative Officer; Tyrone Johnson, Head of the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre (HMETC); and racing icon Jacky Ickx, a Genesis Brand Partner.
The Nürburgring: A Legendary Racetrack
The Nürburgring, renowned for its demanding 20.832-kilometer circuit with 73 corners, varying road surfaces, and 300 meters of elevation change, stands as a true test for any vehicle. Genesis has chosen the G70 3.3T model for this program, a sporty sedan acclaimed for its responsive handling, cutting-edge technology, and powerful engine.
Enhancements made in collaboration with the HMETC in Rüsselsheim, Germany, ensure the G70 3.3T is perfectly suited for the rigors of the Nordschleife. Modifications include advanced suspension and damper systems, additional brake ducts for improved cooling, and heat shields to prevent transmission overheating. In partnership with Michelin, the vehicle is equipped with MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S tires, ensuring top-notch performance regardless of weather conditions.
“The launch of the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program marks an important milestone in our journey to delivering bold high-performance cars, showcasing the power, handling, and performance that the brand can offer,” commented Donckerwolke. He emphasized the brand’s commitment to incorporating the insights gained from this program into future vehicle development, offering Genesis customers and fans a unique and unforgettable experience.
Online bookings for the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife will open to the public on June 21, with rides commencing on July 6.
Each ride accommodates up to three passengers, providing an immersive experience of Genesis’ high-performance capabilities.
