This update is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet, with five new cars set to join the game’s lineup and potential enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro .
Decoding the Five Cars
This time it was challenging—can you help me identify the cars?
Suzuki Jimny (Sierra World Model)
The boxy silhouette in the top-left corner is unmistakable: the Suzuki Jimny, already in the game as a kei variant, is getting its “world” model. This larger, more powerful version is beloved for its off-road capabilities and distinctive design.
Ford Escort RS Cosworth
The top-right car is almost certainly the Ford Escort RS Cosworth, a fan-favorite with its iconic rear wing. This road-going rally legend marks its debut in Gran Turismo 7 and is sure to bring nostalgic joy to longtime fans of the series.
Porsche 911 Turbo/Turbo S (992 Generation)
The sleek, wide shape of the far-right car suggests it’s a 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo or Turbo S. Known for its mind-blowing speed and all-wheel drive, this car will likely appeal to Porsche enthusiasts eager for thrilling gameplay.
Porsche Mission X Concept
Another Porsche silhouette sits next to it, believed to be the Mission X. This electric hypercar, unveiled in 2023, represents the future of performance cars. Its inclusion highlights Gran Turismo 7 ’s dedication to blending modern innovation with traditional racing thrills.
Mercedes-Benz W196 Monoposto
Finally, the bottom-left silhouette appears to be the Mercedes-Benz W196 Monoposto, a legendary Formula One car from 1955. This historic vehicle brings a touch of racing heritage, adding variety to the game’s lineup.
Beyond Cars: Anticipated Features in the Update
While the new cars are a major highlight, the update may also bring enhanced support for the PlayStation 5 Pro . Sony’s latest console promises improved graphics, including ray tracing during gameplay and a possible 8K mode.
Though Gran Turismo 7 already runs at 4K and 120fps on the PS5 Pro, this patch could unlock even greater visual fidelity.
Other potential additions include minor bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and perhaps even new challenges or events to keep players engaged.
Release Timeline
The update will arrive on Thursday, November 21, with patch notes likely dropping a day earlier.
