Gran Turismo 7: A Look Ahead to 2023

Gran Turismo 7 is one of Sony’s most popular racing games and has been available to players for a year. As time goes on, we may see some changes and new developments in the game.

Gran Turismo 7 for PC is not in development

Despite Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi saying that they were “investigating and considering” bringing their flagship game to PC, the latest news about Gran Turismo 7’s immediate future in this regard is a bit of a disappointment for the gaming community.

In an interview with Dengeki Online, when asked about the truth of these investigations and how they were evolving, Yamauchi replied:

“That’s not true. Regarding a PC version, I said ‘[as a developer] it’s not that I haven’t considered all the possibilities’. That means the possibility is not zero, just if you ask me ‘are you doing anything concrete?’ I’m not doing anything. There’s nothing to talk about.”

A double-edged answer that, on the one hand, takes Gran Turismo 7 away from PC in the foreseeable future, but at the same time leaves the door open for a later date. The game, which has already sold no less than 90 million units, would surely increase that figure by a huge amount if it makes the leap to PC users’ towers. Hopefully, the event will happen sooner rather than later. In the meantime, the luxurious four-wheeled vehicle will remain safely tucked away in the garage.

Gran Turismo, the movie: Filming has come to an end

The shooting of the Gran Turismo movie, which will be released in theaters next summer, has finished after seven weeks.

The shooting of the Gran Turismo movie has come to an end. The confirmation comes from Ollie Millroy and Mauro Calo, the two main doubles of the movie based on the Polyphony Digital series for PlayStation that will be released next summer.

Both have revealed it with a series of snapshots from the set, which you can find in the Twitter posts below, where we also find out that the shooting lasted seven weeks.

AI Integration: Gran Turismo Sophy

One of the most interesting rumors is the possible implementation of an artificial intelligence called Gran Turismo Sophy. Developed by Sony AI, this AI uses innovative machine learning techniques and promises to be an exciting addition to the game. While it is not yet known how Sophy will be integrated into Gran Turismo, we are eager to see how it will work in practice.

GT7: Spec II

Another potential new development is the arrival of Gran Turismo 7: Spec II. In the past, we have seen “Spec II” versions of previous games in the series, such as GT5 and GT Sport, released in the second year of each title. Given that GT7 has had great sales success and has received numerous updates, it is possible that Sony will decide to gather all additional content into a special edition of GT7 called Spec II.

Server Closure: Gran Turismo Sport

Finally, we may see the closure of the Gran Turismo Sport servers in 2023. While it has been active for nine months, it is longer than the servers of other replaced titles in the past have lasted. It is not yet clear how this will affect the game and its requirement for an always-on internet connection.

In summary, Gran Turismo 7 has an exciting future ahead and we look forward to seeing what new developments are in store for us.

See you on the track!

  1. They really need to focus on adding more cars to the list and f everything else. Seriously this car list sucks it feels like we have been racing the same frickin cars for the last 5 years. They need to back to a gt2 car list with more muscle cars . I was looking over the complete car list for every gt title and nissan, Mazda, mitsubishi and Mazda make up 80 percent of all the cars ever released. Start showing love to the Americans and Europeans who have been faithful to this title from the beginning. We are people to and spend a lot of money over the years you frew us in with great cars from gt2 and slowly over the years removed all the great American and European cars a little at a time through every release I mean the hottest cars in the world right now are Dodge challenger wide body and charger wide body and Ram trucks and chevy trucks but no e are in gt7 even though there has been a out poor crying out these cars. Not to mention micro transaction and crazy rugged ticket system make changes soon cause I know everyone’s getting really tiered and gt won’t be around much longer if changes aren’t made quickly

  2. Someone tell Diana that she needs to calm down a bit. First of all, I can quite obviously tell you’re an southerner in the United States with the number of self patriotism in here, claiming that all of these american pick-ups are the holy grail of all cars in existence when in reality none of the cars mentioned even make it into the top 10 cars sold in the world. Also, they can’t always add every car you want. If you haven’t heard of a thing called “licensing”, you might want to look it up. Licensing is rather expensive, and most American and European brands would make Polyphony pay large sums of money just to have their cars in the game.
