Gran Turismo 7: Four New Cars in Update 1.59

gt7 update1.59

Coming on May 15, the 1.59 update for Gran Turismo 7 has already revealed its contents ahead of schedule. In an unusual slip-up, the promotional video for the patch briefly appeared on the PlayStation 5’s interface before any official announcement.

Although the video has since been removed, players were able to get a clear look at the four new cars joining the virtual garage of Polyphony Digital’s driving simulator.

Ferrari 812 Superfast: The Undisputed Star

Leading the update is the Ferrari 812 Superfast, a car long anticipated by fans after being found in game files back in 2022. This model is one of the last naturally aspirated V12 grand tourers produced by the Italian brand, delivering 800 horsepower to the rear wheels for a truly visceral driving experience.

While it has been succeeded in real life by the 12Cilindri, its arrival in GT7 marks only the second Ferrari production car added post-launch, following the 430 Scuderia in 2024.

Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06: A Returning American Classic

Next is the return of the Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06, a familiar name to longtime Gran Turismo players. This iconic American sports car completes GT7’s lineup of Corvette generations, standing out with its V8 engine and rear-wheel drive, offering a powerful yet approachable racing experience.

Suzuki Carry KC: The Unexpected Kei Truck

One of the most surprising additions is the Suzuki Carry KC, a tenth-generation kei truck. While many were expecting the return of the beloved Daihatsu Midget, this compact Japanese utility vehicle offers unique gameplay opportunities in low-powered race events. Kei cars like this are often fan-favorites for quirky, creative challenges thanks to their light weight and agility.

Honda CR-V Hybrid AWD: Everyday Tech on Track

Rounding out the new content is the Honda CR-V (5th generation) Hybrid AWD, a 212-horsepower family SUV. This vehicle expands GT7’s growing catalog of daily drivers, joining the likes of the Mazda CX-30 and Toyota C-HR.

While it may not be a race car in the traditional sense, it represents the game’s commitment to capturing all types of automotive experiences, from exotic hypercars to real-world family transport.

What Else Is in the Update?

So far, there is no indication of a new circuit, which has left some fans disappointed. The teaser video didn’t include any new track visuals, suggesting that this update focuses solely on vehicle additions. This would mark the longest gap between new track releases in GT7’s history.

Further details about new races, menu books, Scapes features, and other minor improvements are expected in an official blog post on May 14.

With these four new vehicles, Gran Turismo 7 continues to broaden its appeal—whether you’re drawn to Italian luxury, American muscle, Japanese utility, or everyday hybrids.
