Set to launch on March 27, 2025, Gran Turismo 7 update 1.57 isn’t a massive overhaul, but it does bring a fun mix of new vehicles, enhanced AI racing with GT Sophy 2.1, and fresh events to keep things interesting.
As someone who’s been playing GT since the PS1 days, I always find these smaller updates like unwrapping a surprise car-shaped gift: you never know quite what you’re going to get.
New Cars in Gran Turismo 7’s March Update
Polyphony adds three new cars to the ever-growing GT7 garage, and they couldn’t be more different from each other.
Aston Martin Vantage 2018
This is the kind of car GT fans expect to see: all power, poise, and prestige.
- 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8
- 503 horsepower
- Rear-wheel drive
- Designed with a distinct blend of British elegance and AMG performance
While the 2018 Vantage is no longer Aston Martin’s latest model (replaced by the 2024 facelift), it still packs plenty of punch. It’s a perfect choice for players who love stylish speed with a bit of an edge.
Mazda CX-30 X Smart Edition 2021
At first glance, the inclusion of a compact crossover might seem unusual for a racing sim—but hear me out.
- 2.5-litre e-SkyActiv X engine
- 188 horsepower
- Front-wheel drive
- Sits between the Mazda CX-3 and CX-5 in size and performance
The CX-30 is practical, modern, and gives off major daily driver vibes. GT7 has always had a soft spot for everyday cars, and the Smart Edition adds a bit of variety for those of us who enjoy realistic road-based races.
Renault Kangoo 1.4 2001 – The Surprise Star
Let’s talk about that van.
I laughed out loud when I saw the teaser. Surely not. But yes—Gran Turismo 7’s March update adds a Renault Kangoo, and it’s glorious.
- 1.4-litre petrol engine
- 75 horsepower
- Front-wheel drive
- Cult classic status in Japan
It’s slow. It’s boxy. It looks like it belongs at a flea market. But somehow, this humble French van has become a fan favorite. There’s a huge modding scene around it in Japan, and I’m already picturing liveries filled with baguettes and café logos. For me, this addition speaks to GT’s passion for car culture, not just car performance.
GT Sophy 2.1 – Smarter AI Racing Comes to Custom Races
Perhaps more important than the cars is the new version of GT’s AI racing agent: GT Sophy 2.1.
Until now, Sophy was mostly locked to specific events, but update 1.57 opens the door to something exciting—custom races with Sophy AI (PS5 only).
- Smarter, adaptive driving styles
- More human-like opponent behavior
- Greater challenge without feeling unfair
- You can tailor races with Sophy AI on supported tracks
Unfortunately, Sophy 2.1 is still exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and isn’t available on every circuit just yet. But even with these limitations, it’s a sign of what’s to come in future GT games. If you’ve ever felt like the AI in GT7 could be a little robotic, you’ll notice the difference right away.
New World Circuit Races to Master
With the new update, you’ll also find three new events in the World Circuits lineup. Whether you’re a casual racer or chasing golds, there’s something here for everyone:
- Sunday Cup – Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
- A beginner-friendly race that’s perfect for testing the Kangoo or CX-30.
- European Clubman Cup 600 – Deep Forest Raceway (Reverse)
- A technical challenge in a scenic, tree-lined classic track—great for the Vantage.
- Japanese FF Challenge 450 – Tokyo Expressway (Central Counterclockwise)
- A night race that’s as visually stunning as it is competitive.
Each event gives you an excuse to experiment with the new cars and push them to their limits—or just take it easy and enjoy the drive.
Extra Menu Book 45: A Suzuki Showcase
For the car collectors among us (I see you grinding credits), Extra Menu Book No. 45 brings a Suzuki-themed challenge:
To complete it, you’ll need:
- Suzuki Jimny Sierra
- Suzuki Vision GT
- Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak
This one is only available to players at Collector Level 35 and above, so newer players might need to level up first. The reward hasn’t been revealed yet, but if previous Menu Books are any indication, it’ll be worth your time.
Picture-Perfect: New Scape Location in the Faroe Islands
Photography fans, rejoice! The update also adds a new Scapes location: the stunning Faroe Islands.
- Nestled between Iceland and Norway, these remote islands offer:
- Dramatic rocky cliffs
- Rolling green hills
- Coastal views with fog and mist
It’s an ideal spot to park your Kangoo for a cinematic photoshoot—or drop the Vantage in and go full Bond mode.

3 cars the community been screaming out for , not. We want new tracks , bigger lobbies , better penalty system , even simple stuff like able to change oil in the pits , or not have to constantly tap buttons to see all data when viewing . As in want to see gears and throttle inputs on viewing a mate racing without constantly having to go through same process as 100 times before
