Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital have announced the release of a new free content update for Gran Turismo®7, the exclusive PlayStation® driving title. The February update introduces three new vehicles, bringing the total number of free cars added since launch to over 100. As a result, fans can now expand their collection to a total of 526 cars from all over the world and from different eras.

Leading the lineup is the legendary Mercedes-Benz Unimog, a multipurpose vehicle with over 75 years of history. It is joined by two other iconic models: the Peugeot 205 GTI and the first-generation BMW Z4.

Mercedes-Benz Unimog Type 411: A versatile vehicle for everyone

The story of this truck began in 1945 when Albert Friedrich, former head of aircraft engine production at Daimler-Benz, began planning the development of a “motorized universal machine for agriculture.” This concept led to more than 75 years of history for a vehicle used in virtually every type of job and environment. The 411 series featured a more powerful engine, a reinforced chassis, and various body types and wheelbase lengths, resulting in 12 different models that could be equipped with a wide range of accessories.

BMW Z4: The elegance of a straight-six engine

The successor to the Z3 raised the bar in 2003, debuting with an inline-six engine available in 2.5L and 3.0L versions. Its new chassis and body design achieved an optimal weight distribution, close to 50/50. Additionally, the Z4 incorporated the latest technologies developed by BMW, such as electric power steering and DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control), which adjusted the steering and throttle response when switching between normal and sport modes. The racing version of this model has competed in various events, including the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

Peugeot 205 GTI: A masterpiece that became a rally legend

In 1983, Peugeot discontinued the 104 after 15 years to focus on its new compact car. The 205 was a commercial success thanks to its modern design and comfortable interior. Its legacy was further cemented by the Turbo 16 version, which competed in the legendary Group B of the World Rally Championship. Following its motorsport success, Peugeot introduced the 205 GTI, whose main appeal was its powerful engine, producing up to 128.2 hp in a car measuring just 3.7 meters long and weighing only 900 kg. In addition, its outstanding suspension setup allowed the Peugeot 205 GTI to perform exceptionally well on winding roads, rivaling the most well-known sports compacts of its time.

Alongside these new vehicles, players can further enhance their gaming experience with the following additions:

  • GT Café: Extra Menu No. 44: Peugeot
  • Brand Central / Mazda: New livery available for the Mazda 3 Gr.4
  • World Circuits: New events added:
    • Sunday Cup Classic: Red Bull Ring – Short Layout
    • European Sunday Cup 400: Grand Valley – South Layout (Reverse)
    • European FR Challenge 550: Lago Maggiore – East Layout
  • Gran Turismo Sophy: The next-generation AI is now available on two additional tracks:
    • Monza
    • Sardegna – Road Track B
    • Scapes: New featured section added: “Panorama.”

Update 1.56 for Gran Turismo®7 will be available for download starting February 27.
