Like every month, Gran Turismo 7 fans have a new reason to turn on their consoles and hit the tracks of the legendary driving simulator. This time, version 1.61, arriving next week on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, promises to expand the garage with three very different vehicles all with a Japanese flavor.
Nissan Qashqai
First on the list appears to be the Nissan Qashqai, a compact SUV that revolutionized the European market. While not the kind of car you typically associate with Gran Turismo, its inclusion reflects a broader and more realistic direction. Similar vehicles like the Mazda CX-30 and Toyota C-HR have already made their way into the game.
Nissan Skyline R34
This is where things get serious. All signs point to a new variant of the Nissan Skyline R34, one of the most iconic cars in street racing and tuning culture. Rumor has it that it could be the NISMO Z-Tune, a limited edition with 500 horsepower celebrating the best of the GT-R legacy.
While we already have the V-Spec II Nür in the game, the Z-Tune would be a long-awaited gem, both in terms of performance and historical value. There’s also speculation about a version tuned by Mine’s, which would imply the introduction of a new brand into the game rare, but not impossible.
Honda N-ONE
The third vehicle on the list is perhaps the quirkiest: the Honda N-ONE, a kei car that strengthens the lineup of urban Japanese cars in the game. Despite its small engine, producing just 63 horsepower, this car has a unique charisma.
In its RS manual transmission version, it promises to be just as fun to drive as it is to customize.
As for tracks, the silence continues. It’s been a year without a new circuit, and although many of us are still hopeful, there are no strong indications of one arriving in this update.
