The 2022 Gran Turismo World Series kicks out on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 – the opening rounds of the Online Season 1. Anyone with a copy of Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 may join the series by going to Sport Mode*. Sign up for the Nations Cup, in which you compete for individual glory on behalf of your home nation, and/or the Manufacturers Cup, in which you join a virtual contract to compete on behalf of your favorite automobile manufacturer.
We’re really excited that, after two years of all-online action, the Gran Turismo World Series (previously the FIA Gran Turismo Championships) will incorporate some live events in 2022, when the greatest players from all around the world will face off on stage in front of the cameras.
The top racers from the inaugural online season will be invited to participate in a three-day World Series Showdown in July at the stunning Red Bull Hangar 7 in Salzburg, Austria, against the cream of the 2021 championship.
The World Series then moves online for Season 2, with the fastest racers invited to compete against the established stars at the World Finals. After a two-year break, the championships will return to the famous Sporting Monte Carlo, which hosted the World Finals in 2018 and 2019.
In addition to the two live events in person, spectators may watch the best racers compete in a series of six streams including the top racers from the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Cup.

Brembo, an Italian brake maker, has joined Genesis as a new partner. Both brands will complement the efforts of long-term partners Michelin, Toyota, Mazda, Alpha, and BBS in enriching both the game and the championships.
The Gran Turismo World Series will be exciting to watch, but it will also give a competitive platform for anybody interested in trying out online racing. You’ll be placed in races with others of a similar skill level, allowing you to race for enjoyment. However, if you are quick and determined enough, you may make it to the top level and join us at one of our amazing live events, where we expect an electrifying atmosphere after a two-year hiatus.
