GT2 Race Cars Coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione

It was apparently confirmed by accident in the SRO Motorsport Group broadcast during the 24 Hours of Spa that the GT2 would be coming soon to Assetto Corsa Competizione. When asked about Assetto Corsa Competizione accuracy, Stephane Ratel, CEO of the aforementioned group, blurted out, “I’m very happy because I found out… now you’re going to drive GT2s and so I can train on the simulator.”

Later, Marco Massaruto, co-founder of Kunos Simulazioni, didn’t hold back and said, “the decision to produce the GT2 pack was actually taken yesterday, so it wasn’t a story to tell today… but we are friends, so we won’t pay any royalties for it and we are still friends!”

This means that the development of this DLC is still in its early stages, and it will be several months before we can get our hands on it. It is also unknown which cars will be introduced, but we do know that the GT2 category is currently made up of the Audi R8 LMS GT2, the Brabham BT63 GT2, the KTM X-BOW GT2, the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo GT2, and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, with the Mercedes AMG GT Track Series serving as an invitation class and the Maserati MC20 GT2 being introduced next season.

In other words, we would have approximately 7 new cars inside the simulator, most likely with all of the official teams’ paint jobs and drivers to compete.

At the end of the stream, Massaruto hinted that this would be the last DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione, as the next Assetto Corsa 2 would be released in 2024.
