iRacing’s Dallara P217 LMP2 is getting quite a bit of success in the community with good reviews on its sound and usability. It seems to be a very fun car racing in two of the most competitive categories and can lead to great races as long as participation goes with it.
One of the first problems associated with the car comes because the real model has the seat shifted to the left on the perpendicular of the steering wheel, which you see in the cover image and that is strictly enforced in its reproduction in iRacing. To solve this small inconvenience and enjoy at home as with the rest of the vehicles of a centered view, we can customize the cockpit camera to correct that small displacement.
- Go out to track a few seconds with the Dallara P217 in any condition. With 5 seconds or something sufficient so that you can go to a repetition within the same session is enough.
- Go to the replay (no need to leave) and place the camera in the cockpit.
- Open the camera control with Ctrl+F12
- Correct the lateral displacement with the Y axis. For example -0.020.
- Save to car camera file.
- When you go out again you will have it corrected. You can also do the same with other cars to zoom in or alter your height. In the following video you have the complete process.
See you on the track!
