We get interesting programs to see what is happening with our setups in the simulator. In this case, it is iRacing Setup Differ, which allows you to see through the telemetry files the differences between the setups used in the session.
Installation
Download the software and run the installation
Instructions
Configurations can be loaded from two different sources. From iRacing itself, and from saved telemetry files.
Once installed, you will see two buttons to load iRacing telemetry IBT files.
Click the button and select the IBT file to load. By default, it will be loaded into your telemetry folder. Most users have telemetry enabled, so this is a great source of historical settings.
When a file has been loaded, if it contains the setup of the car used (most do), the setup information will be displayed in the list. when a second (different) file is loaded, the setups will be compared and the differences will be displayed on the right hand side.
If iRacing is running, the iRacing buttons will also be activated. Load the current iRacing configuration by clicking the button. When the configuration is loaded, it will be displayed in the window.
You can load the configurations in any order, and on either side.
If you want to see only the differences between the parameters of the setups, you can activate the “Filter Diffs” switch.
iRacing Snapshots
If you click the iRacing button, the current iRacing settings will be loaded (left or right). Once you make changes to the settings, click the other iRacing button to load a new snapshot and compare them.
