One of the most controversial elements of Fanatec’s Direct Drive base series compared to its rival Simucube is the existence of clearances when using certain add-ons such as the Fanatec Hub. The problem with all of these is that there are too many elements connected, where there is the possibility some issues. They can be fixed by attaching a screw to the Quick Release, but in this way the quick release is no longer meaningful, so it is not a solution.
From France comes this ingenious 3D printed Z-Ring that apparently manages to solve this problem and avoid any looseness that could occur, for a price of only 10 euros and retaining all the properties of the quick wheel change.
The design is available for free thanks to its original author Zappadoc, so if you have a 3D printer you can do it yourself. In this link you will find the design.
