How to Setup Logitech G923 TrueForce on iRacing?

Logitech is one of those companies that has marked a history in the manufacture of gaming accessories, and although we are used to seeing things like mouses and keyboards, Logitech has been advancing in other environments such as simRacing over the years, leaving its mark and making many users put their hands on the wheel.

Its latest innovation has been the Logitech G923 that offers us a new Force FeedBack system that will allow us to feel in a more natural and fast way all the irregularities of the terrain that affect the vehicle as well as the loss of grip in various circumstances. This system is based more on audio than on the telemetry of the vehicle so it is slightly different.

If you are one of those, who competes regularly in iRacing and you have calibrated the steering wheel correctly, the simulator itself, in its configuration file called app.ini, includes some extra settings where you can adjust the vibrations or disable them completely in case you want to minimize these new sensations.

In the [Force Feedback] section of the app.ini file, which you will find in the main installation folder of the simulator, you can find the following options:

  • trueForceEnabled=0.
    •  Enable TrueForce API in Logitech TrueForce wheels
  • trueForceVibeEnable=0
    • Enable vibrations in Logitech TrueForce wheels
  • trueForceVibeGain_dB=0.000000
    • Adjust volume of true force vibration effects
  • trueForceVibePhysics=0
    • 1 – use physics to generate vibrations, 0 – use game audio with Logitech TrueForce wheels

We will be able to activate or deactivate the new function included in the steering wheel and the effects and vibrations depending on the output audio. Hopefully it will help you to improve your driving sensation.

Share your best settings!

See you on the track!
