The acclaimed British Touring Car championship, better known as BTCC, will be available in rFactor 2 in the coming months. At the moment only two cars from the 21/22 season will be available, but we are told that the rest of the cars of the grid will follow. In this case, we will have the Infiniti Q50 and the Toyota Corolla GR. This category, along with the recently announced Brands Hatch and Donington Park, will increase the catalog of British content that we have in rFactor 2 .
These two cars will be the first of several BTCC cars to appear in rFactor 2 in the coming months, and fit in perfectly with the recently announced additions of Donington Park and Brands Hatch, as well as of course our current UK circuit of choice, Silverstone.
A good mix of front-wheel drive (Toyota) and rear-wheel drive (Infiniti) perfectly showcases what the BTCC can offer in the modern era, as the championship continues to grow with record grid size, multiple race winners and always the closest racing in the world.
Working closely with tire manufacturer Goodyear, the teams and the championship itself, these cars have been laser scanned at team headquarters, as well as benefiting from a wealth of team and driver data, which has helped us to produce what I’m sure is an exceptionally realistic and exciting experience on the circuit.
